Trump launches tirade against NBC, Kristen Welker’s Meet the Press

Published:

President Donald Trump raged against NBC and its Meet the Press host, Kristen Welker, on Sunday, just after speaking to the outlet in two wide-ranging interviews over the weekend.

In a Truth Social post, Trump blasted the Sunday show, which he dubbed the “Lowly Rated Meet the Fake Press,” for focusing its coverage mainly on the stunning Signal group chat leak that was revealed just last week.

“Kristen Welker’s entire first half hour of the Lowly Rated Meet the Fake Press this morning, was devoted to the boring Signal Witch Hunt. She doesn’t want to talk in detail about anything that matters like how well we are doing against the Houthis, substantive Peace Talks with Russia and Ukraine or, Iran, Iran, Iran,” he said.

Trump also said Welker “wastes my Administration’s time by talking to them about ‘NOTHING,’” and shifted his ire to the outlet itself, NBC, and its owner, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts.

“Why can’t NBC, one of the Worst Broadcasters on Television, hire people that are honest and credible? The reason they don’t is because their Chairman, Brian Roberts, is a pathetic Loser, who is petrified of the Left, and always will be. Comcast’s MSNBC and NBC have fought me for years, spending almost all of their waking hours making up Fake Stories — and look, I’m PRESIDENT, with really high Poll Numbers and Great Accomplishments. Good job Brian!” he added.

Welker held two separate phone interviews with Trump over the weekend, during which Trump discussed topics including the Signal chat leak, looming 25% auto tariffs, his anger at Russian President Vladimir Putin over recent comments about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and a potential run for an unconstitutional third term as president.
