Kate Kaufling, a 20-year-old sophomore nursing student at the University of Kentucky, passed away on March 31, 2024, after battling osteosarcoma. An active member of the dance team and Tri Delta sorority, she was deeply loved.
Her twin sister, Abbey, shared, “My sweet Kate, you were my person.” Diagnosed on June 2, 2023, Kate remained dedicated to her studies. UK Athletics’ Sandy Bell praised her commitment, while dance coach Dawn Walters said, “Her smile could light up a room.”
Kate is survived by her parents, Holly and Steve, and her sister, Abbey. She will be dearly missed, but her memory lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
