Passengers Are Left Stranded On A Remote Hilltop After A Terrifying Plane Crash In Vermont – TOP News US

Date:

Authorities confirmed a small plane carrying three people crashed near the 3,000-foot summit of Equinox Mountain in southern Vermont early Wednesday. The Piper PA-28 went down around 3:50 a.m., west of Manchester, according to the FAA.

Manchester Fire Department’s Assistant Chief Jamie Greene noted that heavy snow cushioned the impact but made rescue efforts challenging, with workers wading through up to four feet of snow.

At 8:33 a.m., the pilot called 911, reporting that all three passengers had survived with non-life-threatening injuries. The reason for the nearly five-hour delay in contacting authorities remains unclear.
