8-year-old Lionel Ramirez Cervantes, a student at Bells Crossing Elementary in Simpsonville, SC, went missing after running from his classroom on September 12, 2024. Despite staff efforts to catch him, he disappeared.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office launched a search, urging locals to check their cameras. Tragically, around 3 p.m., Lionel’s body was found in a pond near the school.
His mother, Dalia Cervantes, a single mom of five, expressed heartbreak, blaming negligence for his death. “My boy did not have to lose his life this way,” she wrote.
Authorities are investigating the tragedy.
